A LITTLE LIFE GUIDE / TROUBLESHOOTING

Avoid duplicate managed warranty tasks

Changing coverage information should not leave you with several indistinguishable renewal tasks.

Changing coverage information should not leave you with several indistinguishable renewal tasks. Understand the managed task and check your custom tasks separately.

THE LITTLE THING TO REMEMBER

Check the source of a reminder before deciding it is a duplicate.

01

Start with the source

An Active warranty with automatic alerts uses one managed Renewals task. Saving changes to its coverage configuration replaces that managed task rather than duplicating it. Open the record’s linked action to inspect the current schedule.

02

Make the review useful

Editing unrelated metadata is designed to preserve the existing task’s pauses, completion and custom times. Still review the result when a change matters, especially if you edited dates or tracking status as well as a product title.

03

Keep the next step clear

A custom task you created manually is separate from managed warranty alerts. If you find two similar reminders, compare their purpose before deleting anything. One may be a personal document-preparation task rather than an accidental duplicate of the expiry schedule.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

One step at a time.

  1. 01

Open the record’s linked managed action.

  2. 02

Check the result after changing coverage configuration.

  3. 03

Compare similar custom tasks by their purpose.

  4. 04

Keep only the reminders that reflect your intended workflow.

A little reference.

Keep the context and your next action together.

ONE MORE QUESTION

Will turning off automatic warranty alerts delete my manual tasks?

No. Managed alerts are removed, while custom tasks remain separate and need their own deliberate review.

Your source stays the reference.

These guides explain product workflows. Review extracted names, dates and amounts. Features depend on your device, permissions and optional service setup.
