A LITTLE LIFE GUIDE / WORKFLOW

Choose High Normal or Low priority deliberately

Separate importance from the date and time of a task.

Priority answers what deserves attention relative to your other work. The due date answers when the source expects action. Use both fields rather than making one substitute for the other.

THE LITTLE THING TO REMEMBER

Priority is a sorting aid; its value comes from using it consistently.

01

Give High a useful meaning

Reserve High for work that deserves early attention in your own plan. If every record is High, the label stops distinguishing anything. A task can be due soon and still be a quick routine check; keep the notes clear about why it matters.

02

Reassess after a real change

A response, an updated bill or an appointment change may alter priority. Open the existing task and adjust its label instead of creating a duplicate. Review the next check-in as well, because a new label does not by itself change the scheduled alert.

03

Plan for real delivery

Compare two tasks before deciding their relative priority. A corrected document needed tomorrow may deserve High, while reading a general information sheet next month may be Low. Keep the reason factual: “required before tomorrow’s visit” explains the first label better than “important.” After a response arrives, check whether the label still represents the actual next step. You may have been waiting for an urgent correction that is now received, leaving only a routine filing task. Changing its priority can clarify the overview, but inspect the alarm separately if its old time no longer helps. The label should describe your current plan rather than preserve yesterday’s anxiety.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

One step at a time.

  1. 01

Open the action and read the supporting source.

  2. 02

Choose High, Normal or Low for your current plan.

  3. 03

Set the deadline and review time in their own fields.

  4. 04

Revisit priority after receiving new information.

ONE MORE QUESTION

Does changing priority reschedule the reminder?

Treat priority and timing separately. Inspect the reminder time explicitly after changing the task.

Your source stays the reference.
