A document may need a quick look today and a second review after someone replies. Keep both check-ins attached to the same record so the context stays together.
Several useful check-ins belong to one context, not several copies of the document.
Give each occurrence a purpose
Use the first review to read and gather questions, then another to check the response. Multiple rules are useful when they represent different moments. If two rules ask you to do the same thing at the same time, remove one rather than accepting duplicated noise.
Inspect every rule
Review each rule’s start time, repeat interval, enabled state and sound. Changing one rule does not necessarily change another. Open the linked action when you want its focus countdown or task alarm to fit the same plan, and save the reviewed configuration.
Stay in control of the schedule
A useful pair of rules might ask you to read a report on Monday and confirm that your questions were answered on Thursday. Review the title, start time and enabled state of each rule before saving; the two prompts should not be indistinguishable. After Monday’s review, record the question you still need answered and acknowledge that occurrence. Thursday’s alert then has a clear purpose. If the answer arrives early, review whether the later check-in still helps rather than leaving a stale prompt active. This approach keeps one source with several deliberate review moments instead of several nearly identical captures that are difficult to reconcile when the matter changes.
One step at a time.
- 01
Open the record and choose Schedule a review.
- 02
Add the first review date and time.
- 03
Add another rule for the later decision point.
- 04
Check each rule before saving the record.
A little reference.
Keep the context and your next action together.
| Choice | Use it for | Check before saving |
|---|---|---|
| First review | Read and prepare | Pick a useful start time |
| Second review | Check a response | Use a distinct purpose |
| Repeat | Ongoing review | Confirm its interval |
Will adding a record review use another entry?
A review rule attached to an existing entry does not consume a new capture allowance.
