A countdown card can cover information you need while reading or editing. Hiding it removes the visible card; it should not be mistaken for completing or cancelling the task.
Visibility, timing and completion are separate decisions even when their controls appear together.
Choose visibility rather than task state
Use Hide when you want a cleaner workspace but still want the scheduled task to exist. The source, countdown and alerts remain part of the entry. If you genuinely need silence, inspect Pause review alerts instead of assuming hiding has changed notification delivery.
Bring the cards back deliberately
Show countdowns restores hidden cards once all are hidden. Open the task itself if you need to inspect its schedule while a card is out of view. Modal dialogs may also temporarily hide cards to keep form controls usable; that is presentation behavior rather than cancellation.
Stay in control of the schedule
Hide the card when it covers the paragraph you need to inspect, then return to the task through its normal list or record link if you need more context. Before closing the app, remember which task is still running or scheduled; removing the visible strip did not change its plan. When all cards are hidden, Show countdowns brings them back so you can inspect each one again. If an alert keeps interrupting after you hid a card, open its review rules rather than repeating Hide as a troubleshooting step. That alert belongs to the entry’s schedule, while the card is only one way of viewing the entry’s timing information.
One step at a time.
- 01
Open the relevant countdown card’s controls.
- 02
Choose Hide to clear the visible strip.
- 03
Keep the task open unless its work is actually finished.
- 04
Use Show countdowns to restore the hidden cards.
A little reference.
Keep the context and your next action together.
| Choice | Use it for | Check before saving |
|---|---|---|
| Hide | Remove visual clutter | Task and alerts remain |
| Pause | Temporarily stop a behavior | Choose timer or alerts |
| Complete | Finish the job | Stops task repeats |
Why does the strip disappear while a dialog is open?
Cards are temporarily hidden around modal forms so their controls do not obstruct editing.
