A repeating review can be stored for the future without every occurrence already sitting in the operating system’s pending notification list. Reopening OneTap helps refresh that local plan.
A recurring rule and a preloaded operating-system notification are related but different parts of the plan.
Know the queue is bounded
OneTap schedules the next 60 notification occurrences across the workspace, plus the optional evening check-in. It does not promise unlimited simultaneous pending alerts. Very frequent unfinished-task follow-ups also have their own shorter planning horizon, so a stored rule is not an infinite preloaded alarm queue.
Revisit ongoing work
Open the app regularly while a long-running review remains relevant. Use each visit to confirm the task still needs reminders and that its next occurrence looks right. When a matter is resolved, complete it rather than keeping an unnecessary recurring schedule alive.
Plan for real delivery
For a review that may last several months, return to the entry periodically and inspect its next planned occurrence. If the matter is still active, confirm that its source and notes explain the remaining work. If it has changed into a different job, revise the task instead of keeping an obsolete repeat alive. This visit also gives the app an opportunity to refresh its bounded pending queue. Do not interpret a far-future stored recurrence as proof that every future alert is already loaded into the operating system. What matters for ongoing use is a relevant task, a sensible next occurrence and a device configuration that currently permits its notifications.
One step at a time.
- 01

- 02
Reopen OneTap regularly while the review remains useful.
- 03
Inspect the next occurrence after changing a schedule.
- 04
Complete or disable reminders that no longer serve a purpose.
A little reference.
Keep the context and your next action together.
| Choice | Use it for | Check before saving |
|---|---|---|
| Stored rule | Your recurring intention | May extend beyond the queue |
| Pending queue | Near-future notifications | Bounded across the workspace |
| App resume | Refresh opportunity | Review the next occurrence |
Can I rely on an unlimited number of pending notifications?
No. The app uses a bounded rolling queue and refreshes it as you return and update work.
