Transcription turns speech into working text. Optional AI can then help organize that text into next steps. Completing the first stage does not mean you have approved every interpretation in the second.
A model should organize reviewed text, not conceal errors in an unchecked transcript.
Read the recognized text first
Correct the transcript before requesting additional analysis. An incorrect date or reference can be carried into a polished summary if it is never checked. For a simple note, on-device rules or a manual task may be enough without asking a model to interpret it.
Choose processing deliberately
Inspect the selected AI mode and what source will be processed. Successful AI analyses and generated replies count toward the device’s three free AI trials; deleting the saved entry does not reset them. A failed request is different from cancelling a successful preview after it has already appeared.
Know which voice path you chose
Try reading the transcript as the only input a model would receive. If it already contains the wrong date, extra interpretation can organize that error into a more convincing plan. Correct the text first, then ask whether your remaining question needs a model at all. A note saying “read this on Thursday” may only need a manually reviewed task and schedule. More complex wording may justify an optional analysis request after you inspect its processing mode. Keep a distinction between text you corrected from the recording and a suggestion generated afterward. That helps you judge the final action on evidence rather than assuming every stage of a multi-step workflow verified the stage before it.
Your little checklist.
Import and transcribe the supported recording.
Correct the working text before further processing.
Decide whether rules or manual editing are sufficient.
Approve optional analysis only after reviewing its mode.
A little reference.
Keep the context and your next action together.
| Choice | Use it for | Check before saving |
|---|---|---|
| Transcription | Recognize spoken words | Check the text |
| Rules or editing | Simple next steps | May avoid an AI request |
| AI analysis | Model interpretation | Review mode and trial use |
Does cancelling a successful AI preview refund its trial?
Successful AI previews count even if cancelled later. Invalid or failed requests have different refund behavior.
