OneTap can help prepare wording and open a relevant composer, but delivery happens in the destination app. Inspect the handoff instead of assuming a prepared draft has already been sent.
A successful handoff opens the next step; it does not prove that step was completed.
Prepare the content first
Review the draft, recipient and task context before opening another app. Remove placeholders and check dates or amounts. For email, a valid saved email recipient can be included in the composer path; do not use a display name as though it were a verified email address.
Inspect the destination state
Read the actual compose screen after the handoff. Confirm the message body and recipient, then send when you intend to. If the composer is unavailable, keep or copy the reviewed draft rather than marking the follow-up complete without evidence of delivery.
Keep evidence and outcomes distinct
After the handoff, look for the actual editable compose state rather than treating the opened app as proof of delivery. Confirm the recipient, body and any intended attachment in that destination. If a composer did not open correctly, keep the reviewed draft and use a deliberate copy workflow instead of marking the task sent. Once you do send, update the task with what happened, then decide whether a later response check is still needed. Sending may finish a “send confirmation” action while leaving an “obtain corrected document” action unresolved. The handoff is one step in that chain, and the task status should reflect the particular outcome you have actually observed.
Your little checklist.
Review the draft and its intended recipient in OneTap.
Choose copy, email composer or WhatsApp as appropriate.
Inspect the destination app’s actual compose screen.
Send yourself, then update the task to reflect what happened.
A little reference.
Keep the context and your next action together.
| Choice | Use it for | Check before saving |
|---|---|---|
| OneTap draft | Editable prepared wording | Not a sent message |
| Composer handoff | Open another app | Check the actual state |
| Delivery | Message sent externally | Requires your decision |
Will opening WhatsApp mark my issue resolved?
No. Sending a message and resolving the underlying issue are separate outcomes that you should confirm yourself.
