A transcription flow that cannot start may be missing its language data. Start with the selected language and download state, especially after moving to another device.
Fix readiness first; an absent language pack cannot transcribe even a clear recording.
Check the device you are using
Language packs are stored locally. A pack downloaded on your Mac does not automatically appear on your phone, and the workspace does not synchronize. Make sure this device has the appropriate pack before assuming the recording itself is invalid.
Retry preparation with connectivity
Use a reliable connection to complete the supported download, then check that the pack is ready in the import flow. If the recording still fails, inspect its format and duration. Repeatedly approving incomplete or empty text will not repair missing transcription data.
Know which voice path you chose
If a prepared Mac transcribes the memo while a new phone cannot start, compare setup state before blaming the audio. Check the phone’s selected language and whether its required pack is actually available there. Complete the supported download on that phone, then revisit the same short file. A readiness problem should be investigated without repeatedly changing the task’s wording or creating new captures. If the pack is ready and recognition still fails, inspect the file’s duration and format as a separate issue. Keep the original safe throughout the check. This sequence gives each failure a clear place to investigate instead of treating every voice problem as an excuse to reinstall the app and risk local information.
One step at a time.
- 01
Confirm the selected language matches the recording.
- 02
Check whether this device has the required pack.
- 03
Complete the pack download while internet is available.
- 04
Inspect file support and duration if recognition still cannot start.
A little reference.
Keep the context and your next action together.
| Choice | Use it for | Check before saving |
|---|---|---|
| Language | Which pack is required | Match actual speech |
| Pack state | Local readiness | Download on this device |
| Recording | The input file | Check support and duration |
Will reinstalling the app recover a pack from another device?
Do not assume that. Downloads and workspaces are device-local, and reinstalling can affect local data.
