Not every review fits a day, a week or a month. A custom day interval can represent a cycle such as checking a pending request again in ten days.
An unusual repeat is easier to maintain when its purpose is written down.
Keep the interval explainable
Write why that interval is useful in the task’s notes. A future you should be able to tell whether ten days reflects an expected response window or an arbitrary setting. Review the underlying source instead of treating the reminder itself as a contractual deadline.
Use the supported range
Choose Custom days and enter a value within the app’s supported 1–365-day range. Check the first occurrence as well as the interval. If the matter becomes resolved early, complete the task or disable its rule rather than leaving recurring reminders active indefinitely.
Stay in control of the schedule
Use a ten-day interval only when you can explain what should be different after ten days. For example, you may expect a document to become available and want a recurring check while it remains missing. Put that expectation in notes, then inspect each occurrence for new information. Once the document appears, the recurring task may need to become a one-time reading task instead of continuing unchanged. Custom days are not a substitute for a calendar date stated in a notice. Keep an actual source deadline in its own field, and check whether the next custom occurrence still leaves enough time to act before that deadline arrives.

Does a custom interval change the original deadline?
It defines review timing. Keep the source deadline in its own field and verify both before saving.
