A LITTLE LIFE GUIDE / COMPARISON

Use several countdown cards without losing context

Keep simultaneous work and review timing visible in one place.

OneTap can show countdowns for more than one saved action. The point is to see what each timer belongs to, not to start more sessions than you can realistically follow.

THE LITTLE THING TO REMEMBER

Multiple countdowns are useful only when every control stays attached to the intended task.

01

Read the task name first

Before pausing, moving or completing anything, inspect the card’s title. On desktop, cards can sit side by side with horizontal scrolling. On mobile, Next countdown changes the visible card. A card hidden behind another view still belongs to its original task.

02

Decide one task at a time

Open the relevant card when you need to see its source or editor. Use the focus pause for a session interruption and the review pause for scheduled prompts. Keeping those controls distinct prevents a tidy-looking dock from masking an unchanged reminder plan.

03

Keep the task and its review separate

Name concurrent sessions so their cards remain distinguishable. “Read the service notice” and “review the appointment instructions” are easier to control than two cards both called “Review.” On a phone, use Next countdown and read the displayed title before pausing anything. On Mac, scroll to the relevant card and open its source when necessary. If only one task can receive your attention, pause the other focus session deliberately rather than letting both durations imply active work. You can leave separate review schedules in place for later. A readable dock helps you choose the current job; it should not encourage several unattended work sessions that all appear to be progressing.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

One step at a time.

  1. 01

Check each card’s task title before using its controls.

  2. 02

Scroll desktop cards or use Next countdown on mobile.

  3. 03

Open the source when the remaining work is unclear.

  4. 04

Pause or move only the task you intend to change.

ONE MORE QUESTION

Does switching the visible card pause the other timer?

Changing which card is visible is not a pause. Use the timer’s explicit pause control when needed.
