Not every capture needs a model-generated explanation. A clear date or a manual note may be useful with on-device reading, rules and your own review.
A modest local result you understand can be more useful than an unchecked elaborate summary.
Use rules for straightforward structure
OCR and rules can help with recognized text and simple extraction without an AI trial. Read the source yourself and correct the task before saving. A rules-based guess is still a suggestion, especially when several dates or amounts appear in the same document.
Use models for a reviewed interpretation
Optional AI can help organize more complex wording or draft an editable response. That does not make it a source of verified external facts. Choose its processing mode deliberately and check whether every important claim is actually supported by the document you supplied.
Distinguish access from availability
Choose an example with a clear next step, such as a message asking you to confirm a visit time. Review what the on-device reading and rules propose, then correct the title or schedule yourself if the meaning is obvious. Reserve a model request for the part you genuinely need help interpreting or wording. If several possible dates appear, do not choose whichever route produces the most convenient one; check the source for which date belongs to the requested action. This makes the comparison practical. You are evaluating whether the result is supported and useful for your task, rather than treating a longer generated answer as inherently better than a small verified local result.
One step at a time.
- 01
Read the source and identify the question you need answered.
- 02
Try on-device reading or manual editing for simple details.
- 03
Choose optional AI only when interpretation would be useful.
- 04
Review the final fields regardless of which route you used.
A little reference.
Keep the context and your next action together.
| Choice | Use it for | Check before saving |
|---|---|---|
| Rules | Simple extraction and templates | Can still need correction |
| Model | Interpretation or draft wording | Requires source review |
| Manual editing | Your verified correction | Preserve source context |
