A LITTLE LIFE GUIDE / CHECKLIST

Find an older report without guessing its file name

Consistent record metadata makes an older document easier to retrieve.

Consistent record metadata makes an older document easier to retrieve. Search by information you verified from the source instead of relying on a phone’s generic screenshot name.

THE LITTLE THING TO REMEMBER

Search is strongest when the saved metadata was checked at capture time.

01

Start with the source

Use a recognizable record title, provider label, patient label and summary when saving. A name such as “Clinic report, April visit” can be more useful than a generated file name, while the actual record date remains separate metadata.

02

Make the review useful

Open Health and search using the person, provider or a distinctive source phrase you remember. Filter the category when needed. If the search is empty, consider whether the source was ever saved on this device or removed by retention.

03

Keep the next step clear

When you find the record, open its source before using a detail in another task or message. A matching title alone does not verify the person, date or content. Keep originals available if the saved preview cannot show a small line clearly.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

Your little checklist.

  1. Use clear labels when reviewing each new report.

  2. Search Health by patient, provider or summary context.

  3. Check retention and device context if a record is missing.

  4. Open the source to verify the actual document you found.

A little reference.

Keep the context and your next action together.

ONE MORE QUESTION

Why is a report on my Mac missing from my phone?

The devices keep separate encrypted local workspaces; OneTap does not automatically sync record history between them.

Your source stays the reference.

These guides explain product workflows. Review extracted names, dates and amounts. Features depend on your device, permissions and optional service setup.
