Before replacing a device or deleting an app installation, decide which saved information you need to keep. A local-only workspace should not be treated as though a server has another synchronized copy.
A deliberate backup check is more reliable than an assumed account recovery path.
Export before removing access
Use the available workspace export while the device and its secure-storage key are still accessible. The JSON can contain private record data and saved image previews, so choose a private destination. Keep original documents separately when you need their complete files.
Check the new device deliberately
Install the appropriate native build and review its supported setup or transfer workflow. Store entitlement restoration is separate from data handling and stays within the relevant store ecosystem. Do not delete the old device’s copy until you have checked what information is actually available where you need it.
Make the first three entries count
Before replacing a device, perform a small verification while the old workspace is still accessible. Open an important record, check its source and create a deliberate export to a private location. Confirm that the file exists where you expect it, then inspect the destination device’s supported setup path before removing the original installation. Do not assume a store restore or a successful app launch proves the saved records have moved. Keep original full documents separately as needed. This sequence leaves you able to compare what you retained with what you intended to keep, rather than discovering missing evidence only after the device-held key or the only working copy is no longer available.
One step at a time.
- 01
List the saved information you need to retain.
- 02
Export while the existing workspace is still accessible.
- 03
Store the plain JSON and originals privately.
- 04
Verify the destination setup before removing the old installation.
A little reference.
Keep the context and your next action together.
| Choice | Use it for | Check before saving |
|---|---|---|
| Old device | Accessible encrypted workspace | Export before losing the key |
| Export | A separate plain JSON copy | Protect its contents |
| New device | Independent installation | Verify actual data availability |
Will purchasing Lifetime recover data from a lost phone?
No. Feature access and local data recovery are separate; OneTap has no synchronized account workspace to restore.
These guides explain product workflows. Review extracted names, dates and amounts. Features depend on your device, permissions and optional service setup.
