OneTap does not need a new login to become useful. Complete the welcome tour, choose Start on this device and begin with a local note or reviewed capture.
A useful first session can be one reviewed task, not a long account-setup checklist.
Choose one small first job
Use a task you already understand, such as reviewing a document later today. A simple example helps you learn capture, editing and reminders without connecting every optional service at once. Check any sample labels so demonstration material is not confused with your own obligations.
Add optional tools later
Google connections, online AI and Mac local model setup have separate purposes and requirements. You do not need to configure them just to write a manual to-do or read saved local information. Enable notifications when you actually want the app to remind you.
Start with the right expectation
For a first session, choose something small enough that you can review every detail yourself, such as a note to read a familiar letter this evening. Complete the welcome flow, create the entry and inspect its title and schedule. You can learn that local workflow before deciding whether Gmail, Calendar or optional model processing would add anything useful. If a sample is visible, read its label and keep demonstration content distinct from your own records. This gives the app a concrete purpose immediately without requiring broad setup. Later, enable an optional service because you can name the task it supports, rather than connecting everything before you know which features you will actually use.

Must I sign in with Google to use OneTap?
No. Google authorization is only for optional connected Gmail and Calendar features, not for opening the local workspace.
These guides explain product workflows. Review extracted names, dates and amounts. Features depend on your device, permissions and optional service setup.
