Local AI is an optional Mac feature. It is useful when you want supported model interpretation on your computer, but it requires more preparation than simply opening a local workspace.
Local AI combines a verified app entitlement with a prepared local model service.
Unlock the actual controls
Use the native store’s verified Lifetime entitlement to access Mac local AI setup. A website label, copied receipt image or changed task field is not a purchase verification method. If you already bought the product, use the appropriate store restore flow rather than assuming a new device is unlocked.
Prepare the local service
Install and open the official Ollama application yourself, then use OneTap’s supported model controls. Check installed models, download a supported selection if needed and choose the local mode explicitly. The workspace encryption and the model’s downloaded data remain separate systems.
Keep the processing choice visible
Work through setup with a harmless source before expecting the model to help with an important record. Confirm that the local controls are available under the verified store entitlement, that Ollama is running and that the supported selection appears in the installed list. Then ask for one small interpretation and compare the output with its input. If the controls are still locked, inspect purchase restoration rather than attempting to change a model name to bypass access. If access is verified but the service is unavailable, investigate that service separately. Keeping these checks in order makes it clear whether you are solving entitlement, local readiness or document-reading quality.
Your little checklist.
Open OneTap’s AI and offline setup on Mac.
Purchase or restore Lifetime through the native store if needed.
Open the installed Ollama application.
Check installed models and choose a supported local selection.
A little reference.
Keep the context and your next action together.
| Choice | Use it for | Check before saving |
|---|---|---|
| Lifetime | Verified access to local controls | Use native store verification |
| Ollama | Local model service | Install and open separately |
| Model data | Downloaded interpretation resources | Allow storage and download time |
Does buying Lifetime automatically install Ollama?
No. Ollama installation and model preparation are separate steps performed on your Mac.
