New image captures can retain a normalized PNG preview inside the encrypted workspace. That makes later inspection useful, but it is not a promise to preserve every original pixel or attachment.
A stored preview helps review but should not silently replace an important original document.
Use the preview for local context
Open the saved record and tap its image when you want a closer look. The image can be compressed, downsampled and stripped of source metadata. Check recognized text and reviewed fields with that limitation in mind, particularly when small print matters.
Keep full originals separately
A retained preview is not a full-resolution original or a preserved PDF attachment. Save original important documents in a location you control. Older records also cannot recover images that the version creating them never stored, so inspect what is actually present rather than assuming every entry has one.
Choose optional services deliberately
Open a saved image record and check the smallest detail you expect to rely on later. If the normalized preview makes that detail difficult to read, keep the full original accessible rather than assuming the app can reconstruct it. Review the recognized source wording too, because a legible preview and accurate OCR are separate questions. For a multi-page original, confirm what material the saved record actually retains instead of describing a single preview as the complete attachment. This makes the record useful within its real limits. You can use it for context and reminders while preserving the original elsewhere for later occasions when full resolution, every page or original file metadata matters.
One step at a time.
- 01
Open the saved record and inspect its available image.
- 02
Zoom the normalized preview when checking details.
- 03
Use the original file for full fidelity when necessary.
- 04
Keep retention settings aligned with your history needs.
A little reference.
Keep the context and your next action together.
| Choice | Use it for | Check before saving |
|---|---|---|
| Saved preview | Convenient local image context | May be downsampled |
| Recognized text | Working document wording | Can contain OCR mistakes |
| Original file | Full source material | Store separately when needed |
Can OneTap reconstruct an original PDF from the preview?
No. The normalized image preview is not a retained full PDF attachment or a guarantee of original resolution.
