Removing an old source can tidy a workspace, but it also changes the history available in Records & insights. Check what the record contributes before deleting it.
Delete with an understanding of both the record and its dashboard role.
Start with the source
Open the bill and inspect its source, reviewed metadata and linked actions. If it is a duplicate or a mistaken capture, understand which other record preserves the actual expense before removing one copy.
Make the review useful
A source deletion removes its record from the dashboard. Derived tasks may remain, so do not assume a remaining task provides the bill’s full amount, status, image and historical context. Confirmed spending totals can change after removal.
Keep the next step clear
Export important records first and keep original receipts where completeness matters. Deletion does not restore the device’s free entry allowance, so do not use delete-and-recreate as a way to test or extend the trial.
Your little checklist.
Inspect the bill and its linked actions.
Check whether another record is the true duplicate.
Export information you intend to retain.
Delete deliberately and review the resulting dashboard.
A little reference.
Keep the context and your next action together.
| Check | Example | Your next step |
|---|---|---|
| Duplicate | Second capture of one bill | Check the surviving record |
| History | Confirmed spending from that source | Will change when the source is removed |
| Allowance | Previously approved entry | Deletion does not reset the counter |
Will an action that remains keep the bill in spending history?
The dashboard depends on the source record; a remaining derived task is not a complete substitute after that source is removed.
