Editing a summary is only useful when the intended version is saved. After comparing a report with its source, check the record again so your correction is the wording you will see later.
Finish a correction by saving and checking the version you intend to keep.
Start with the source
Open the report and read the source alongside the existing summary. Identify the specific administrative error: perhaps a wrong provider name, an omitted page limitation or a date copied from an appointment rather than the report itself.
Make the review useful
Correct the summary without adding a diagnosis, urgency claim or treatment suggestion. If you request another AI summary, approve the selected processing route and review its result just as carefully. A generated paragraph is still a draft until you accept the wording.
Keep the next step clear
Use Save record in the existing-record flow, then reopen the record to confirm the saved result. Check linked action titles separately if they repeat the old error. Saving a summary does not update the provider’s official document or replace the complete original.
One step at a time.
- 01
Compare the saved summary with the original source.
- 02
Edit the specific incorrect or incomplete wording.
- 03
Use Save record to retain the reviewed version.
- 04
Reopen the record and check any linked action text.
A little reference.
Keep the context and your next action together.
| Check | Example | Your next step |
|---|---|---|
| Summary edit | Correct the issuing provider | Save the reviewed metadata |
| Source text | Original recognized reading | Keep separate from your concise wording |
| Linked task | Old incorrect title | Review its wording independently |
Does asking AI for a new summary automatically make it the official report?
No. It remains an editable aid; the provider’s original document and appropriate professional interpretation remain separate.
