A LITTLE LIFE GUIDE / COMPARISON

Protect private information when choosing online analysis

A source can be useful for planning and still contain details you do not want to send online.

A source can be useful for planning and still contain details you do not want to send online. Review what is displayed before choosing the optional online AI route.

THE LITTLE THING TO REMEMBER

Choose the processing path with the source in view.

01

Start with the source

Decide whether the content needs AI interpretation at all. On-device OCR and rules may be enough for a clear bill or appointment. Mac Lifetime users with local setup can process recognized text with a supported downloaded model instead.

02

Make the review useful

Online AI sends the displayed text and image through OneTap’s gateway to the provider when you request analysis. Choose a source that contains the necessary context while avoiding unrelated private information. Do not assume a later summary removes what was already submitted.

03

Keep the next step clear

The encrypted workspace is device-local, but an explicit online request is a separate processing choice. Exports are also a separate consideration because the exported JSON is plain text. Keep your processing and backup decisions deliberate rather than treating every operation as identical.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

One step at a time.

  1. 01

Read the displayed source before selecting a mode.

  2. 02

Choose on-device rules when they meet the need.

  3. 03

Use online AI only after reviewing the sharing notice.

  4. 04

Review the result and store or export it deliberately.

A little reference.

Keep the context and your next action together.

ONE MORE QUESTION

Are personal API keys stored inside the mobile app?

The production app uses an app-owned gateway with provider keys kept server-side; a personal provider key is not required for that route.

Your source stays the reference.

These guides explain product workflows. Review extracted names, dates and amounts. Features depend on your device, permissions and optional service setup.

A little more clarity, in your pocket.
