A useful summary is shorter than the document, which also means it leaves things out. Compare its claims with the source rather than using fluent wording as proof of accuracy.
A summary should make the source easier to use without changing what it says.
Start with the source
Start with the proposed next action, then locate the sentence that supports it. Check names, dates and amounts directly. If the source describes a possibility rather than a requirement, avoid rewriting it as a definite instruction.
Make the review useful
Edit the summary in your own words when that improves clarity. OneTap keeps the recognized source separately from the summary, so you can preserve context without putting every paragraph into the task title or notes.
Keep the next step clear
For existing records, the selected-AI summary flow asks before processing and the result must be saved with Save record. Medical highlights remain source facts; a summary is not a clinical interpretation or a complete medical history.
One step at a time.
- 01
Read the proposed summary once without approving it.
- 02
Locate the source lines for each important statement.
- 03
Correct unsupported certainty, dates and missing context.
- 04
Save only the version that matches the source you checked.
A little reference.
Keep the context and your next action together.
| Check | Example | Your next step |
|---|---|---|
| Wording | “May be required” | Keep the uncertainty |
| Date | An example date in a form | Do not turn it into your deadline |
| Amount | An illustrative fee | Do not confirm it as your spending |
Does a summary replace the original document?
No. Keep original documents when completeness matters; the editable summary is a working aid, and saved previews are compressed.
These guides explain product workflows. Review extracted names, dates and amounts. Features depend on your device, permissions and optional service setup.
